What was once a hobby in my garage, is now a business, a community, and now my life.

The Woods has given me the opportunity to grow from a barber to now a business owner, an organiser and team leader.

10 years ago I was once was an anxious, introverted, skinny person who wanted to help people but didn’t know how.

Now I know how.

Thank you each person that decides to sit on my chair, because it gives me the opportunity to become a better barber, listener, speaker and a friend.

Daim started his barber journey at the end of 2021 after realising 10+ years in the cooperate world wasn’t for him.

Born and raised in Wollongong, NSW; Daim now lives with his wife and three kids in the Yarra Valley where they call Warburton home.

Chat with him about music (punk rock, ska, reggae), 90’s movies / tv shows, self sufficiency, motorcycles, rugby league , and / or just share some life lessons / wisdom.

Beyond the haircuts, as a barber Daim seeks to create an environment which allows you to speak and get things off your chest if needed. The barber chair is a safe space, so go deep if that’s what you’re after.

Starting his career as a hairdresser, Chris quickly realised his passion for Barbering and in 2016 made the switch. After stints at several Barbershops, he landed here at the Woods in August 2022 and his passion, humour and upbeat personality have had a positive impact on our culture.

Sharing our passion for community and connection, Chris enjoys creating fresh looks / haircuts and has built a reputation as a dedicated Barber, at times collaborating with his clients over several cuts.

In the chair be prepared for a chat, Chris loves to talk and will probably talk your ears off about anything and everything.

Starting his Barbering journey in July 2022, Kevin is super hungry to learn and continue to progress his new career further.

Kevin has always been intrigued with fades since he was much younger. Transitioning from the Barber chair to Barber, Kevin has always had a passion for fades and is now focused on learning the ropes of the industry.

He also shares great passion of powerlifting, basketball, and old school Japanese cars.

We pride ourselves in knowing Kev shares the same level of commitment as The Woods in creating great experience and relationships with each member of the community.

Thorton (Thor for short) began his barber journey in early 2023 when he took a leap of faith and left his career as a family law solicitor. 

Originally from Singapore and having lived in Hong Kong for a time, Thorton now lives in Melbourne and brings a cultural sensibility to every interaction. 

Outside of the shop you can find him lifting weights, attempting to be a Brazilian jiu jitsu athlete or chasing his glory days as a breakdancer. 

Passionate about men’s health and community, his aim is to create a welcoming space for anyone in his chair. He hopes to inspire people to chase their dreams and live authentically.
